Nautical Newport Wedding Suite

Jessica and Ben Britnell, two fabulous friends of my dearhusband and myself got married this past summer in Newport, R.I. Their weddingwas a one of a kind event hosted at the Belle Mer. The event includedcheerleaders, a “pollerina” a yacht and of course, cocktails galore!

Jessica asked me to help with the paperie suite for theirwedding. It was a blast! With a nautical theme to run with, we incorporatedwhimsical coral drawings, bubbles and cool grays. These elements were repeatedthroughout the event to make it seamless and branded.

Jessica was a beautiful bride! I wanted to share some imageswith you of the suite and the day as a whole.

Parisian Paper

This past Christmas I was asked to create one single invitation. I was slightly reluctant as it was the week before Christmas and I had enough of my own shopping and hall decking to worry about, but I couldn’t resist once I heard what the invitation was for. It was the couples 25th wedding anniversary in June. The sweet Mr. of the two had decided to make his wife’s dreams come true.

He had planned a one of a kind date night for them. To prepare her for their date night, he purchased her a sequin and crystal embellished couture gown. He picked it out, he wrapped it and he knew she would love it. Along with the gown he purchased tickets for them to see her favorite artist in concert and to make the night truly complete he planned a fabulous dinner for the two of them. Most women would be blown away at the thoughtful and intentional gesture of just the dress!

He had asked for my help in creating the invitation for the dinner because it was no ordinary restaurant. He had planned this extravagant night for the two of them… in PARIS! He was whisking her away to France for their anniversary and made dinner reservations atop the Eifel Tower.

I was so thankful to be a part of this special moment in their lives. To take part in not only a dream of the Mrs. but a remarkable gesture of love and kindness by her Mr. They are truly a one of a kind couple. Wrapped up in love and excited to be with each other. I wish them all the happiness for the next 25 years and I am so happy I was able to take part in this event.

Rustic vintage invitation... Beginning

So I recently was asked to begin brainstorming for a rustic wedding invitation. The brides inspiration is gorgeous! She has chosen a rustic camp in Raymond, ME as her venue and Tonight I began the process of creating her invitations! I thought I would share the process with you as I go!

Her inspiration is rustic barn, light airy pinks, whimsical textures and old oak trees. I've begun with a simple watercolor background and will lay the rest of the invite on top.

My home company Chirp Paperie is a custom paperie design company that specialized in hand drawn or hand painted paperie suites. I am using my business as a jumping off place to give you insight as to what my brain indulges in each day.

Winter Break Project: Old file cabinet to new!

So I decided over the Christmas break I would redesign my office... to make it more Chirp friendly and a little more organized. I decided our current file cabinet was a little too 90's and needed a make over.
Here's a picture of our file cabinet before the redo:

So, off I went to Michaels and Home Depot. I purchased the following materials for my project:

• Rustoleum Spray Paint in ivory color
• Sand Paper
• Modge Podge
• Foam Paintbrush
• Scrapbook paper (you can choose any color/design you want)
• Old credit card or small piece of cardboard

The steps were pretty easy and not that time consuming, this was a one day project. I finished and that evening added my files back in! Here is a picture of it half way done, followed by a mini collage of the before and after. Enjoy!

Tis the Season... for lovely cards!

There's nothing more exciting than receiving ol' fashioed snail mail.

I regularly send out notes and cards to my dearest friends just so I can anxiously await a reply. As you may have guessed, I'm obsessed with paper. My printing company laughs at me every time I go in, because I snub my nose at so many "traditional" items. He always has to go digging for me, finding the best and sometimes the most unique papers for me to print on.

This Christmas, or holiday season, break out of your traditional "family photo" or "winter scene" card for something more contemporary and daring. Send your family and friends something that will stand out and make them await your 2013 card with excitment.
